How to Create a New Location (Warehouse or Showroom)

Before you can import your inventory use the Catalog App Manager to create your warehouse and showroom locations. This allows you to assign inventory quantities to specific locations.

Instructions

  1. Log in to your Catalog App Manager (CAM) account with your email address and password.

2. Click Content in the top navigation and select Local Inventory from the drop-down menu.

3. Click the Create Location button.

4. Complete the form to create your new location.

Location Identifier (unique & required): a unique identifier for internal tracking. The location identifier is important when importing your inventory quantities in order to make sure they are assigned to the desired location.

Display Name (required): this is the name of your showroom or warehouse that you would like to display within the app.

Location Type (required): select Showroom or Warehouse from the drop-down menu.

Address: add the warehouse or showroom address to help manage your locations.

Click Save when finished.

You can find all your locations on the right side of the Local Inventory page under Locations.

How to Edit and Delete Locations

To edit or delete a location click the Settings button next to the location that you wish to make changes to.

Edit

On the Location Details tab use the form fields to edit the location details.

Delete

On the Delete tab use the text box to enter the showroom or warehouse you are trying to delete.

Please note: deleting a location will also delete the inventory quantities you have for that location.

How to Import Local Inventory

Import your local inventory using a csv file.

Instructions

1. Prepare your spreadsheet for import. The required and optional columns are listed below.

  • SKU (required)
  • Brand (required)
  • Location identifier (required)
  • Current Quantity (required)
  • Future Availability Date (optional)
  • Future Quantity (optional)

Download the local inventory spreadsheet template.

2.  Click Content in the top navigation and select Local Inventory from the drop-down menu.

3. Click the Upload CSV to Inventory button.

4. Choose an import method: Update Existing Records or Delete and Replace Everything.

5. Select if you want to use kits to update inventory levels for kit components.

NOTE: This is only relevant if your inventory CSV contains kit SKUs. If it doesn't and you only show inventory levels on component SKUs, simply leave this box unchecked and proceed by clicking NEXT.

If you select this checkbox, you will need to choose how repeated kit components should be handled.

When selecting Overwrite, the application will be using the highest inventory value it can find, while Stack Up will cause the application to add up all numbers pertaining to the same SKU, resulting in higher total stock levels.

Example:

Click Next in the bottom right-hand corner to proceed to the second tab.

6. Choose the CSV spreadsheet file you would like to import using the Choose File button. If your spreadsheet includes a header row with column titles please check the CSV Has Header Row checkbox.

Once your file has been captured click Next to proceed.

7. Map the columns with the corresponding data.

Click Finish to proceed with the import.

After you finish importing you will be taken back to the Local Inventory page.

How to Enable Local Inventory on Your Devices

Control which devices display local inventory levels. Use the instructions below to enable local inventory on the device or device group of your choice.

Instructions

1.  Click the Devices tab in the top navigation. 

2.  Click the Settings button in the Device Groups side panel on the right.

3.  Click the Advanced Configuration menu to expand the section.

4. Scroll down to the Local Inventory options. Use the radio button to choose if you want to SHOW or HIDE local inventory quantities (local inventory is set to hide by default).

5. Use the Define priority and visibility of available locations section to toggle which locations you would like to Show on device, this will make that specific location's inventory visible on the device or device group you are editing. 

Use the gray boxes with arrows on the left to drag and drop locations to prioritize the order they appear on your device(s).

6. Don't forget to Save Changes once you are done.

How to Manage and Update Inventory

You can manage and update inventory directly in the Catalog App Manager.

Deleting Inventory Records

1. To delete all local inventory records click Reset All.

2. Use the pop-up warning to confirm you would like to Delete ALL Inventory Records.

If you would like to delete an individual product's inventory please continue to read the following instructions.

3. To delete individual local inventory records use the text boxes to search for the product you would like to edit local inventory quantities for. You can search by SKU, Name, Brand, or Location.

4. Click Delete for the product you would like to delete local inventory quantities for.

3. Click Yes, delete this record to confirm.

Manually Edit Inventory

1. Use the text boxes to search for the product you would like to edit local inventory quantities for. You can search by SKU, Name, Brand, or Location.

2. Click Edit for the product you would like to make changes to.

3. Use the pop-up window to edit the Current Quantity, Future Availability Date, and Future Quantities.

Click Save when finished.

How Local Inventory Appears in the App

See the screenshots below to preview how local inventory appears in the app.

Product Page

On the product page under the Specs tab, tap or click Check factory availability to show the real-time inventory quantities for the item.

Tap or click See details to show specific inventory quantities for the showroom and warehouse locations as well as manufacturer inventory (when available).

The Product Availability pop-up will show product availability and quantities for the showrooms, warehouses, and manufacturer. When a product is currently in stock it will show In Stock with the quantity available.

When a product is not currently in stock, the future In Stock Date and quantity will appear.

When a product is not currently in stock and does not have a future in-stock date or quantity it will appear as Out of Stock.

Collections Page

Real-time inventory for manufacturer and local warehouse and showrooms is available on the Collections Page in the app.

To view more details about the inventory quantities for items in a collection click or tap on See Item Details, the image icon, or the product title to bring up the product page.

Use the Specs tab to view product availability.
