Overview: Managing Prices on the Catalog Kiosk

Wondersign's Catalog Kiosk gives you great control over setting prices.

You have the ability to:

  • Set standard or "everyday" retail and comparison prices.
  • Set promotional pricing to have sale prices appear on individual items, specific categories, or everything on the kiosk for a specific period of time.
  • Set a custom price for individual products.
  • Import custom prices (.xls or .csv).
  • Export SKUs and Prices from the Catalog Kiosk.

Enabling or Disabling Prices

Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

Step 2- Navigate to Devices

After logging in, navigate to the device management page of the Catalog App Manager by clicking Devices in the navigation menu bar at top of the page:

Step 3- Select Device or Device Group

Once on the device management page, select the gear icon for the device group that you want to change pricing for.

Please note: If you want to adjust price for an individual device click on the name of the device.

Step 4- Navigate to Settings

Please note: This step is for managing prices on an individual device. If you are making changes to the device group please proceed to step 5. 

On the device details page, select Settings from the menu on the left side of the screen: Step_4.pngStep 5- Change the Group Settings

Click the drop down arrow next to Price Display, set prices on the kiosk to either Show or Don't Show:

Step 6- Save Changes

Once the preferences have been updated, click Save Changes in the top right corner of the screen:

Setting Standard Pricing

Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

Step 2- Navigate to Prices

To set the prices on Catalog Kiosk, click Content from the navigation menu across the top, then choose Prices:

Step 3- Manage Everyday Normal Prices

On the price lists page select Manage Everyday Normal Prices on the right side of your screen:

Step 4- Choose How to Manage Prices

Once in the price management console, choose the following method of how to manage prices:

  1. Import pricing from file allows you to upload a custom spreadsheet.
  2. Pricing setup in the Base Rule is considered “global”, and the pricing rules apply to all products in all categories.
  3. Category Rules allow prices to be set for a specific category or subcategory of items e.g. Beds.
  4. Product Rules work the same way that category rules do, the key difference is that the changes made in product rules only apply to specifically chosen SKUs.

Base Rule Instructions

Step 1- Editing Base Rule

To edit the Base Rule. Click Edit Base Rule, and the following screen will appear:

  1. To Show retail prices switch to Blue. To Hide retail prices switch to Gray.
  2. When setting the global base rule, always select Cost-Based from the dropdown. The other option is "fixed price", which will be relevant when setting category or product rules.
  3. Choose between multiplier, gross margin, or markup
    • Multiplier - multiplies the wholesale/landed cost with the factor entered into the field
    • Gross Margin - the percentage difference between the selling price and the profit
    • Markup - the percentage difference between the actual cost and the selling price
  4. If desired, the rounding tool dropdown will round the price up or down to a specific number.
  5. Once completed adjusting the retail and/or list pricing, click Done in the bottom right corner. This will save any changes.

5Pic.pngPlease Note: The List Pricing works the same as the retail pricing. As a general rule, always ensure the list multiplier will result in a higher cost than the retail multiplier.

Step 2- Reviewing Pricing Rules

Once the desired pricing perimeters have been entered, the pricing rules can be reviewed by clicking the navigational arrow. If the terms are not correct, they can be adjusted by clicking Edit Base Rule:

Category Rule Instructions

Step 1- Editing Category Rule

To adjust pricing for all items in a specific category or subcategory, click Add Category Rule:

Once on the add category rule screen, browse and select the categories (1) or subcategories (2 & 3) to adjust pricing for:

After selecting the desired categories or sub-categories, navigate to the Define Pricing section:

  1. Cost based or fixed price: Choose Cost Based to set a retail multiplier based on each product's cost. Choose Fixed Price to have every item in the chosen categories show the same price (For example, if the store advertises that all mattresses are $1,000, select the mattresses categories, then set a fixed price of $1,000)
  2. Choose between multiplier, gross margin, or markup
    • Multiplier - multiplies the wholesale/landed cost with the factor entered into the field
    • Gross Margin - the percentage difference between the selling price and the profit
    • Markup - the percentage difference between the actual cost and the selling price
  3. If desired, the rounding tool dropdown will round the price up or down to a specific number.
  4. Save by clicking Done in the bottom right corner.

Please Note: The List Pricing works the same as the retail pricing. As a general rule, always ensure the list multiplier will result in a higher cost than the retail.

Step 4- Reviewing Category Rules

Once the desired pricing perimeters have been entered, they can be reviewed by clicking the navigational arrow. To add a new Category Pricing Rule, click Add Category Rule. If the terms need to be edited or deleted for a previously set rule, click Edit:

Product Rule Instructions

Step 1- Editing Product Rule

To adjust pricing for a specific product or specific group of products, click Add Product Rule:Step11.pngStep 2- Choose Products

Once on the Add Product Rule screen, click Choose Products.

To import a list of prices from a spreadsheet, click Import CSV of Products to Select.

The following steps outline Choose Products:

Step 3- Search Products

Search for the products to be edited by searching by the product's category, name, or SKU from the drop down menu. Enter the search parameters, then click Display Products:

Step 4- Select Products

Choose the individual items, or click Select All to choose all items returned in the search. Once the desired products are selected, choose Add Selected Products at the top right of the screen:

Step 5- Select Individual Items

Similar to the last step- Choose the desired individual items, or click Select All to choose all items returned in the search. Once the desired products are selected, choose Next:

Step 6- Setting Prices

Use the Define Pricing page to setup pricing rules for these items:

Setting Promotional Pricing

Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

To set the prices on the kiosk, click Content from the navigation menu across the top, then choose Prices:Step_1.pngStep 3- Adding Promo Price List

Under the prices section select Add Promo Price List:

Next, enter a name of your choice for the promotion in the space indicated below, then click Finish on the bottom right corner:

Choose a start date and time for the sale, as well as an end date and time for the sale then click Save Changes in the top right corner:Step5pic.png

Step 6- Placing Pricing Rules

After saving the promotion dates and times, select Pricing Rules to edit the prices that will be adjusted during the sale:

Once in the price management console, choose a method of how to manage prices for your sale, it is the same process used for setting standard pricing. Choose from the following methods:

  1. Import pricing from file allows an upload of a custom spreadsheet of prices.

Setting a Custom Price for One Product

 Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

On the top menu bar under the Content tab select Products:

Use the SKU, Name, or Category field to search for the desired product:

Click the desired product.

On the product detail page, select Pricing from the menu on the left of the screen:

Choose the pricing type to be adjusted manually by clicking List or Retail:

The pricing details can be adjusted using the Catalog App Manager's built in pricing calculations:

  1. Choose between multiplier, gross margin, or markup
    • Multiplier - multiplies the wholesale/landed cost with the factor entered into the field
    • Gross Margin - the percentage difference between the selling price and the profit
    • Markup - the percentage difference between the actual cost and the selling price
  2. If desired, the rounding tool dropdown will round the price up or down to a specific number.

Instead of using the calculation methods, an exact price can be entered by turning OFF the Markup from Cost option, and manually entering the desired amount in the price field:Step8.pngStep 9- Save Changes

Once the desired pricing has been entered, click Save Changes at the top right of the screen:

Import Pricing

Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

To set the prices on the kiosk, click Content from the navigation menu across the top, then choose Prices:

Choose which pricing list to import prices to:

  1. Everyday normal pricing
  2. A new promo or sale price (click here for instructions on creating a promo of "sale" price)
  3. An existing promo or sale price

The following steps demonstrate the process for importing pricing for Everyday Normal Pricing:

Step 4- Importing Prices from a File

After choosing the pricing setup to import prices for, select Import pricing from file:

Select Choose File to locate the .csv or .xls file where SKU's and pricing are located on the hard drive, then select Upload:

Please Note: For each product that prices are being uploaded for the brand, SKU, and desired retail prices must be provided. An optional column for list price can be added and uploaded as well. See screenshot below for details:

 Step 6- Choose Columns

The import tool will pull information from the columns in the order they were filled out in the .xls or .csv file. Choose which column the information should be copied to:i.pngStep 7- Import

After choosing the appropriate fields to copy the information to, check the box to confirm understanding, then click Import:

Step 8- Automatic Import

The Catalog App Manager will automatically grab the prices and apply them to the SKUs listed in the spreadsheet:

8.pngStep 9- Complete Process

A summary will appear displaying the number of SKUs that were updated. If any of the SKUs from the imported file did not match with a SKU in the Catalog App Manager, a summary of failed rows can be downloaded by selecting Download Failed Rows CSV (1).

Export Pricing

Step 1- Log In

In the Google Chrome web browser, login to my.catalogkiosk.com using your email address and password. This is the Catalog App Manager, it allows you to edit the content and features displayed on your Catalog Kiosk:

To set the prices on the kiosk, click Content from the navigation menu across the top, then choose Prices:

Choose which pricing list to export:

  1. Everyday normal pricing
  2. A new promo or sale price 
  3. An existing promo or sale price

The following steps demonstrate the process for exporting Everyday Normal Pricing:

After choosing the pricing setup to export prices for, select Download Pricing to File:

Select which items to export, then click Export. The file will automatically be downloaded:
